Important Changes to the Affordable Connectivity Program

The Affordable Connectivity Program is winding down.

Emergency Broadband Benefit
Affordable Connectivity Program

On January 11, the FCC announced the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is expected to end this Spring unless Congress appropriates additional funding (read the FCC’s order here). The Commission has started taking steps to wind down the program. The FCC projects that households enrolled in the ACP will continue to receive the benefit through April 2024. This date is an estimate and may change.

We understand that this program has been crucial for many of our customers in accessing essential online resources and staying connected and regret that funds are running out. Below are key details you should be aware of:

All households that enrolled in the ACP before February 7, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET will continue to receive their ACP benefit until the ACP funds run out (currently projected to be April 2024) as long as the household remains enrolled and eligible for the benefit.

No new applications will be taken after February 7, 2024, at 11:59PM ET. New applicants must have an approved application AND be enrolled with NeuBeam to be eligible for the benefit.

Once the funds are depleted from the program, the discount you have been receiving through the program will no longer be applicable. Again, we currently expect this to happen with your May bill.

For customers in Maryland, the MEBB discount will end on February 29 and you should expect to see your invoice go up by $15 starting in March.

We recognize the impact this may have on your budget. Some households may qualify for the FCC’s Lifeline program for low-income consumers, and you are encouraged to explore this option. You can find more information at lifelinesupport.org.

As a customer eligible for the ACP discount, you are allowed to cancel or change your service without penalty one time at the conclusion of the program. If you wish to cancel, please send your cancellation request and the date you’d like to cancel to billing@neubeam.com. If you want to change your service, please call us at 240-449-3360 and ask to speak to Sam Lauver, our ACP specialist, or email acp@neubeam.com.

We want to express our sincere gratitude for your understanding during this time of transition. We remain committed to providing our customers with the best possible service, and we will continue to explore ways to support your connectivity needs. We will contact those enrolled in the program through NeuBeam again if further program updates are announced.
